Once you have found an online bingo site that takes your fancy you will need to register with that site. The player will then be given a random card.  Pre-programmed computer software will then callout numbers.  As the numbers are being called out the player must compare them to those on their card. The aim of the game is to be the first player to make a particular pattern of numbers on your card from those that have been called out.

It is important that players pay close attention to the numbers that are being called out.   Most sites will give you an option - you can mark the numbers yourself as they are called or the computer software will do it automatically for you.  There will be a display panel on the site which will show players which numbers have already been called out.  The player which makes the desired pattern of numbers on their call will call 'Bingo'.  The site will then proceed to check that the pattern is correct with the numbers that have been called.  Once it has been established that the pattern is correct and no errors have been made the player will be announced the winner and the jackpot will be theirs.  If however more than one player gets the winning pattern then the winning jackpot will be shared out between them.

There will be some variance between gaming sites.  Some sites distribute cards to players in such a way that everyone has a fair chance of winning the jackpot, while others will place a restriction on the number of cards that a single player can have.  One thing that will be certain is no two cards will be the same.  Each card will contain a grid of five rows and five columns.  The central space is blank and every row or column may have a number printed on it.

Players can play several cards at any one time to try to maximise their chances of winning.  As long as you can keep up then that's fine but it may become confusing and you may miss numbers on your cards that have been called.  Three or four cards are usually advised for playing with at any one time.
